Ophelia Inspired Vintage Styled Shoot

Ophelia Inspired Vintage Styled Shoot

“I am the happiest creature in the world. Perhaps other people have said so before, but not one with such justice. I am happier even than Jane; she only smiles, I laugh.”  Elizabeth, Pride and Prejudice .

I was honored to be asked to be a part of this beautiful wedding styled shoot a few months ago by Teresa of Bijou Beautiful. What girl doesn’t love all things romantic – especially when lace and sparkly jewels are involved! For this concept, the vision was to create something classic and timeless, with a touch of modern for today’s bride. Think Jane Austen meets the modern working woman. While certain aspects of the Victorian Era seemed a bit restricting for women (particularly their wardrobe), we extracted it’s grace and delicate detail to create this photo story shot at Presidio Park, San Diego.

We Cordially Invite You…
The pocket invitation I designed was in metallic creams, golds, whites and pinks with just a touch of minth. The flowers in the design have a delicate lacey pattern and actual lace was wrapped around the belly band and inside of the invitation. The Brooch and small feather on the front give it just enough of that victorian, vintage feel while keeping it super glamorous.

The Table
Our table setting was full of beautiful flower arrangements by Sylivia James Floral Designs. Our table number complimented the lace runner with a layer of lace at the top, silk ribbon and a coordinating brooch and our menu and escort card was simplified slightly to compliment the rose china and crystal glassware.

And For Dessert…
Our sweets table was made up of a simple white cake paired with tea, scones and colorful shortbread to represent our love for all things British

We hope this blog leaves you “completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.” (Pride and Prejudice) Again, we were honored to be apart of such a magical and creative wedding shoot that capatilized on all things lovely and British. Now that we’ve created the perfect Victorian/Ophelian Period wedding, all that’s left to do is find your Mr. Darcy. Brooding and all.
